don't we*(3) go to the conference
room to discuss the plans?
A: Good.
*(1)「お座り下さい。」は、have a seatです。Sit
down. は、あからさまな命令口調になるので使いません。他にWait./Come
on./One more time. なども失礼な表現になります。
*(2)島田さんとDavisさんは初対面でないので、see
you となります。もし、初対面だったら、meet you です。ここでの「It's
nice to see you again.」を日本語に置き換えるならば、「また、お世話になります」「また、よろしくお願いします」といった感じでしょうか。
*(3)Why don't we〜は「〜しませんか」の意で、ビジネスでは必須表現です。Let's
では断定的で強い表現になってしまい、Shall we〜では馬鹿丁寧な感じになってしまいます。
